01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Working through the mountain of bean sprouts crowning each bowl before finally pulling up broth-coated noodles is the defining pleasure at Marusuga. The signature ramen comes standard with a hearty 250g portion of noodles, resting in a relatively mellow broth rich with sweet and savory kaeshi tare. The accompanying pork cut is thick and broad, stewed tender enough to pull apart with chopsticks, delivering a balanced blend of lean meat and melting fat.

Diners who prefer lighter noodle portions can opt for the "Marutoku" bowl, which scales back to 160g and adds a seasoned soft-boiled egg. The menu also branches into soupless variations—shirunashi and mazesoba tossed directly with tare—as well as tsukemen dipping noodles chilled after boiling. Adding raw egg for sukiyaki-style dipping or topping the bowl with cheese or butter adds extra richness.

Customizing each order at the counter is another highlight. Beyond fine-tuning garlic, back fat, and vegetable volume, patrons can request free toppings such as chopped raw onion and crispy red or white tenkasu tempura bits. The sharp crunch of the onion and the savory crispness of the fried batter cut nicely through the robust broth.

Positioned along the Kannana Ring Road just a brief walk from Kameari Station, the shop is laid out mainly with counter seating suited for solo diners. With its straightforward ticket-vending system and late-night hours on select days, it is a convenient fixture for a filling bowl.
